In order to remain competitive in the international market and to further expand their market position, efficient production and maintenance is of great importance for manufacturing companies such as the WEPA Group. Particularly in spare parts management, there is still a lot of potential for optimization in internationally active companies, both in the area of spare parts inventories and machine availability.
In the video, WEPA Hygieneprodukte GmbH shows its path to efficient and cross-location spare parts management. Thanks to the software solution and collaboration with SPARETECH, WEPA was able to clean up its inhomogeneous and partially inconsistent database of 170,000 data records and complete it with original manufacturer data. Duplicates and discontinuations were identified, so that the data quality in the global material master was significantly increased. After the successful roll-out of the software and the processes developed for the company, all 13 WEPA plants now use the SPARETECH app for their spare parts search and new material creation. By automating the processes, the manual effort and the search times for spare parts could be significantly reduced.
Even extensive spare parts lists as well as parts lists of new machines and plants can be processed with the help of SPARETECH. Through the intelligent matching technology, the existing spare parts data are automatically matched with the material master and the SPARETECH database. This prevents the creation of new duplicates and products that do not yet exist are automatically created with original manufacturer data.
"The software quickly generated enthusiasm among maintenance staff at the plants," explains Timo Thomas, Group Maintenance Manager at WEPA, citing that together with SPARETECH they have managed to "maintain full control of our data and inventory across 13 sites throughout Europe."
Stefan Pfannkuchen, Head of Engineering & Maintenance at the WEPA Group, is also convinced by the SPARETECH solution and emphasizes: "The transparency that SPARETECH provides helps us to avoid any availability risks when reducing inventory.
The successful cooperation with WEPA Hygieneprodukte GmbH, shows very impressively how much potential can be exploited through efficient and cross-location spare parts management. We look forward to what is yet to come in this successful collaboration.
